On 24 July, 2012, H.E. Mr. Yang Houlan, Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, met with Mr. Lok Prasad Banjara, the Station Manager of Gandaki Media House, Vice Chairperson of Association of Community Radio Broadcasters Nepal and Secretary of Nepal-China Academy. They cordially discussed on the media exchanges and people-to-people contact between China and Nepal, etc.
Banjara said that Nepal has over 240 community radiobroadcasters and Gandaki Media House is composed of radio, television and khabar. They want to strengthen the media exchanges and cooperation with the Chinese side. Nepal-China Academy is committed to promote peoples' friendship between the two countries, and hopes to further enhance peoples' contact through organizing various activities on the platform of "2012 China Nepal Friendly Exchange Year".
Yang said that media plays an important role in promoting the understanding and friendship between the peoples of the two countries. He would like to see more interaction between Chinese and Nepalese media and hoped the Nepali media pay more attention to China-Nepal friendly cooperation, and give more objective introductions about China. Yang expressed his gratitude towards Nepal-China Academy for its long-time contribution to China-Nepal friendship. He believed that the China-Nepal good-neighboring friendly relations will continuously develop smoothly on the solid social foundation.
