H.E. Ambassador Mr. Yang Houlan Meets with Chairman of Nepal FM 91.8

On 11 September, 2012, H.E. Mr. Yang Houlan, Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, met with Mr. Khem Raj Panta, Chairman of Nepal FM 91.8. They discussed about the cooperation in broadcasting and media sector. 

Panta said that Nepal FM 91.8 is one of the biggest private radio stations in Nepal. They hope to strengthen the cooperation with the media of the friendly neighbor China, and further promote the understanding and friendship between the two peoples. The Nepali audience is very interested in the development of China, hope to know about that how China achieved economic development and social equity at the same time. Therefore Nepal FM 91.8 wants to broadcast more programs about Chinese economy and culture, and teach Chinese language in the broadcasting. 

Yang said that both China and Nepal are ancient civilizations, and the cultural interactions between the two countries has a history of thousands of years. To further strengthen the cultural relations and media cooperation between the two countries will help to promote the understanding and friendship between the two peoples. China Radio International started Nepali language broadcasting more than 30 year ago, and set up the broadcasting Confucius Classroom in recent years. CRI has large numbers of audience in Nepal, and Nepal FM 91.8 could discuss cooperation with CRI. He hoped Nepal FM 91.8 will continue to play an active role in promoting China-Nepal relations.
