H.E. Mr. Yang Houlan, Permanent Representative of China to SAARC, Receives Interview by Bhutanese Media

On November 17 2012, the Permanent Representative of China to SAARC and Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, H.E. Mr. Yang Houlan was interviewed by Bhutan Broadcasting Service (BBS) and kuensel newspaper. Mr.Yang answered the questions regarding China's cooperation with SAARC and China's relations with Bhutan.

Yang said that, as an important regional cooperation organization in South Asia, SAARC have made important contribution to promote cooperation, regional economic and social development among its members. China attached great importance to developing relations with SAARC, and appreciated Bhutan's positive role in SAARC. China was willing to work with all SAARC member states and continue to play an active role in promoteing the development of SAARC .

Regarding China-Bhutan relations, Yang said that China and Bhutan, as traditional friendly neighbors, have a long history of exchanges. The two sides have always maintained friendly exchanges and cooperation, and the trend of rapid development have occured in recent years. China would continue to promote the friendly cooperation between the two sides in various fields to achieve mutual benefit between the two countries.
