China Study Center sets up branch in western Nepal

POKHARA (Nepal), Jan. 2 , China Study Center, a non-governmental academic and Nepal-China friendship organization in Nepal, set up its new branch in Nepal's western 
city of Pokhara on Sunday. Speaking at the opening ceremony of the center's Pokhara Branch,Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Sun Heping said, "It is this year when we are celebrating the Golden Jubilee of our diplomatic relations.So, the inaugural ceremony of Pokhara Branch is also one of celebrations of amity between our two countries."China-Nepal friendship has been deeply rooted in the hearts of the two peoples, Sun said, adding that "Let the torch of China-
Nepal friendship to be passed on from generation to generation."  Sun spoke highly of the unremitting endeavors made by those active non-governmental organizations for the enhancement of 
bilateral relations and the promotion of people-to-people exchanges in various fields.  At the same occasion, Ramesh Bahadur Bhattarai, chairman of the branch, said the foundation of the branch is a symbol of Nepal's 
efforts in strengthening the relationship with its "good partner and a growing economic power" -- China . Bhattarai expressed hope the establishment of the branch, with 
the help from the Chinese government and people, would bring prosperity to Pokhara, a famous tourist city in western Nepal.  Founded in 2000, China Study Center has already set up its 
branches in Nepal's major cities of Butwal, Biratnagar, Nepalgunj,Dhulikel, Lumbini as well as Chitwan district. The center is planning to establish five more such branches in other places of 
Nepal in the near future.  The Pokhara Branch has 17 working committee members and a dozen of ordinary members.  Enditem
