Reminder to Strictly Abiding by the Adjustments of HS/HDC Code Requirements

On February 16, 2021, Chinese Embassy in Nepal issued the "Important Notice on the adjustments of HS/HDC code requirements" (please refer to http://np.chineseembassy.org/eng/News/t1855081.htm) and made adjustments of HS/HDC code requirements for passengers flying to China from Nepal since March 1, 2021. We would like to emphasize that all bound for China should strictly abide by the latest regulations.

I. Passengers from the country with direct flights to China (e.g. the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Ethiopia, etc.), are requested not to fly to Nepal for transit. We do not issue HS/ HDC code for you starting from March 1, 2021.

II. Passengers from the country with no direct flights to China, shall follow the principle of "one transit only". The Embassy once again reminded that Tribhuvan Airport of Kathmandu is not fit for transfer. International passengers need to enter Nepal first and then be quarantined for ten days according to the Nepalese government. Please be cautious when you choose to transit via Nepal. If you have to travel to China via Nepal by whatever means, the procedures below should be followed:

1. Take nucleic acid and IgM anti-body tests in the country of origin, and apply for the green HS/HDC code in accordance with the requirements of the Chinese embassy or consulate there.

2. Take nucleic acid and IgM anti-body tests within 48 hours before boarding, and apply for the green HS/HDC code to the Chinese Embassy in Nepal according to the "Important Notice on the adjustments of HS/HDC code requirements" issued on February 16, 2021.

Please note: From March 1, 2021, those intending to fly to China via Nepal without HS/HDC code issued by the Chinese embassy or consulate in the country of origin, will be denied of the HS/ HDC code application.

III. Except for those whose IgM or IgG antibody are positive after receiving COVID-19 vaccine, passengers diagnosed with Covid-19 or with one positive result of nucleic acid test or IgM or IgG antibody test, should follow the procedures below after taking further tests and getting negative results, going on to conduct health observation for 14 days and meeting the necessary requirements before flying to China.

1. After getting a negative result, you should take a CT or X-ray examination of your lungs and two nucleic acid tests (the sampling interval should be more than 24 hours)in the designated hospital. Then submit the diagnosis of lung CT or X-ray result and the 2 negative reports of nucleic acid tests to Chinese Embassy in Nepal by email(consulate_npl@163.com) .

2. Passing the check of the Embassy, you should conduct the health observation and quarantine of 14 days.

3. When the health observation and quarantine is over and all is well with you, you are supposed to take the Double Tests within 48 hours before boarding, then to apply for the green HS/HDC code to the Chinese Embassy in Nepal in accordance with the "Important Notice on the adjustments of HS/HDC code requirements" issued on February 16, 2021.

V. Reminder

Starting from March 1, 2021, if you do not meet the requirements above and still come here, the losses of being stranded in Nepal shall be borne by yourself. Passengers shall fill in the required information truthfully, accurately and completely. Otherwise, we will not issue HS/ HDC code to you.
