Ambassador Yang Houlan Meets with Mr. Pokhrel, General Secretary of CPN (UML)

On 22 June, 2011, Ambassador Yang Houlan met with Mr. Ishwar Pokhrel, General Secretary of CPN (UML). Mrs. Xi Hui, Political Counselor of Chinese Embassy also attended the meeting.

Mr. Pokhrel welcomed Ambassador Yang to assume his office and said that while the bilateral relationship between Nepal and China is developing smoothly, the traditional friendship between CPN (UML) and CPC is also continuing to be strengthened. The government of Nepal firmly pursues One-China Policy, never allows any forces to use the territory of Nepal for anti-China activities, no matter which political party is governing. He hoped that the exchanges between the two countries and the two parties will be further strengthened in the future so that the Nepali side can know more about China.

Ambassador Yang appreciated the Government of Nepal and CPN (UML)'s long-time support to Chinese government on Tibet-related issue, etc. Yang said Nepal is China's traditional friend. Although he arrived in Nepal only few days ago, he has sensed the deep friendship and warm hospitality that the Nepali Government and people extended to Chinese. China-Nepal Comprehensive Cooperative Partnership has strong base and large potential for future developing. The Chinese side wishes to make joint efforts with all Nepali parties including CPN (UML), continue to push forward the development of party-to-party relationships and other exchanges and cooperation.
